John A. Rizzo, CPA

John Rizzo is the Managing Partner of our firm. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York and received his B.S. degree, Magna Cum Laude, in Accounting from the State University of New York at Fredonia in 1995. While at Fredonia, John interned with Freed, Maxick, Sachs & Murphy, P.C. of Buffalo, New York. He moved to Rochester after graduation and joined Bonadio & Co., LLP in 1996 and was promoted to Principal in 2004. After nine years with Bonadio & Co., LLP, John formed Rizzo & DiGiacco, CPAs, PLLC in September, 2005 with Brian DiGiacco.

John is the managing partner of our firm and his expertise includes providing financial consulting to a wide-variety of commercial businesses. John serves as the temporary/interim CFO for several of our clients and also conducts financial statement and benefit plan audits. He also has extensive tax planning and preparation experience. John assisted over 50 companies in obtaining over $5 million in SBA disaster loan funding following the 9/11 disaster and has also assisted clients in obtaining training grant funding from New York State.

John was certified in 1998 and is a member of the board of directors and finance committee of the Boys and Girls Club of Rochester. John has also been a member of Business Networking International for over seven years and is a past member of the Family First of New York Credit Union Supervisory Committee.

John has been successful through hard work, dedication and treating his client’s businesses as if they were his own.


Brian M. DiGiacco, CPA

Brian is the Partner in charge of our Audit Division. A Rochester native, Brian received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 1999. After graduation, he joined Davie Kaplan Chapman and Braverman and received his Certified Public Accountant license in 2001. In 2001, Brian was hired by Bonadio & Co., LLP, where he was employed as a Senior Manager until founding Rizzo & DiGiacco, CPAs, PLLC in 2005.

Brian serves a variety of clients and specializes in conducting financial statement audits and providing tax planning advice to a wide variety of closely held commercial companies. His expertise also include employee benefit plan audits, as well as special project consulting including business plans, projections and agreed-upon procedures engagements.

Brian enjoys being involved in the local community including coaching youth soccer for the past six years and is a member of Business Networking International.


Timothy M. Hern, CPA

Timothy is a Partner in our Audit Division. His expertise includes conducting financial statement engagements, employee benefit plan audits, and providing accounting, tax and consulting services to tax-exempt organizations and closely-held commercial companies in upstate New York. Timothy works with a wide range of clients, including manufacturing, construction, real estate, retail, service and tax-exempt entities. In his 12 years of public accounting experience, Timothy has also gained extensive tax planning and preparation experience.

A lifetime resident of Rochester, NY, Timothy received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2000, while also working an internship at a local accounting firm. Timothy joined the Bonadio Group upon graduation, where he was employed for over seven years before joining Rizzo & DiGiacco. Timothy became a partner in the firm on January 1, 2011, at which time the firm became Rizzo, DiGiacco & Hern CPAs, PLLC.

Timothy was certified in 2005 and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of Business Networking International and served as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Mercy Residential Services for the past six years and is a member of the finance committee of Genesee Country Museum.


Whitney L. Baniewicz, CPA

Whitney Baniewicz is the Partner in charge of our Small Business Division. She studied both accounting and management at the University of Tennessee. While at the University, she spent two semesters overseas, one in Sweden and the other in Italy. Whitney graduated Magna Cum Laude and then moved back to Rochester, NY to begin her career in accounting.

Whitney began her career at a small accounting firm in January 2006. In 2011 Whitney purchased the firm from her senior Partner. Whitney helped grow the firm by 60% in her first four years by implementing a marketing campaign, increasing more services offered by the firm, and increasing efficiency of internal office systems and processes. In January of 2013 W. L . Baniewicz CPA, PC merged with Rizzo, DiGiacco and Hern CPAs.

Whitney is a licensed New York State Certified Public Accountant. Whitney works intimately with various small business owners in the community to address specific business goals and increase the overall health of clients’ companies. She assists with company mergers and has helped clients to emerge from debt, double their revenue, and continue on a path of growth and profitability.

Whitney is actively involved at Browncroft Community Church and volunteers regularly with special needs children. She recently joined the Ronald McDonald House Red Tie Gala Committee. Whitney and her husband Brian spend their free time exercising and playing with their 3 young children, Aubrey (5), Brooke (3) and Camryn (1).


Christopher A. Harris, CPA

Christopher is a Director in the Audit Division and is responsible for overseeing the services provided to our tax-exempt clients. He brings more than 13 years of not-for-profit experience to the firm. Chris began his not-for-profit accounting career when he joined Bonadio & Co., LLP in 2001. While there he worked exclusively with tax-exempt organizations and served a variety of health and human service providers and HUD funded agencies. He provided audit, single audit, accounting, and informational tax return preparation services.

Chris holds a B.S. in Accounting from the State University of New York at Geneseo. He is the Board Treasurer of Bivona Child Advocacy Center, and the Immediate Past President of the Rochester Regional Chapter of Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Chris recently finished six years of service on the Board of Directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates of Rochester/Monroe County, where he held many positions, including Treasurer and President. Chris was certified in 2006 and is a member of both the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPAs. Chris was named to the 2013 Rochester Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list.

Dan Matteo

Daniel T. Matteo, CPA

Dan is the firm’s Director of Client Service. Dan brings over 7 years of assurance, tax and consulting experience to the firm. He has served a variety of industries with an expertise in audits, reviews and compilations, including extensive experience in the Construction, Auto Dealer, Charter School, Nonprofit, Firearms, Financial Institutions, and Manufacturing industries. Dan also has experience in employee benefit audits, tax planning and tax preparation.

Dan received his M.S. Degree in Accounting from Nazareth College of Rochester, while working internships at two other local accounting firms. After graduation, he joined a local accounting firm where he worked prior to joining RDHB in October 2015.

Dan was certified in 2012 and is a member of both the AICPA and the New York State Society of CPA’s.

Kelly Taylor

Kelly Taylor, CPA

Kelly is the Director of the Outsourced Accounting Services Division and is responsible for overseeing the accounting and bookkeeping services provided to our small business clients. Kelly began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in Rochester, became the Internal Audit Manager for a publicly held company, and eventually started her own small practice. She joined RDHB in 2015 and brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm.

Kelly is a licensed New York State Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.

Kelly enjoys being involved in the community. She serves as the Treasurer for the Webster Rattlers Travel Baseball Team as well as being active member of its fundraising committee. She is a dedicated volunteer in activities with her two sons.

Deb_Ange - Website

Debra L. Ange, CPA

Deb is a manager in our small business division.  Deb brings over 18 years of small business experience including month end reporting, annual reporting, sales tax, corporate and individual tax and consulting experience to the firm.  She has served a variety of industries including extensive experience in the Restaurant and Medical industries.

Deb received her B.S. Degree in Accounting from St. John Fisher College in 1998 while working an internship in the private sector of accounting. Upon graduation she joined a local accounting firm where she was employed for 18+ years prior to joining RDHB in January 2016.

Deb is a licensed New York State Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

David Feor, CPA

David is a manager in our tax division. David brings expert tax and consulting experience to the firm. He has served a variety of industries with skill in corporate taxation, multi-state businesses and individual tax planning, including technical tax expertise in Construction, Manufacturing, Investments, Gifts, Financial Analysis and Tax Strategy.

David received his MBA in Corporate Finance from The Simon School of Business in 2012, while contemporaneously working full time at another local accounting firm and completing his CPA licensure requirements. David continued to serve clients in the local area until joining the RDHB team in August 2016.

David recognizes that there is no substitute for a combination of expertise and client service. He enjoys high performance technology and helping clients increase wealth through tax minimization. He is a member of the Sports Car Club of America and Rochester Area Triathletes.

Andy Roberts

Andy Roberts is a Private Wealth Advisor and operates RDHB Wealth Management. Andy’s services cover all areas of financial management, from investment and retirement planning to estate conservation and legacy planning. Andy specializes in helping his clients develop a comprehensive, cohesive financial strategy that is designed to fit their unique needs and enables them to meet both short and long term objectives.

A Rochester native, Andy brings more than 15 years of experience providing advice on financial planning strategies. Andy received his B.S. degree in Business with a concentration in Finance from The State University of New York College at Brockport in 2000, and obtained his securities & advisory licenses shortly after graduating. He is licensed to offer Life, Accident, and Health Insurance with a certification in NYS Partnership for Long-term Care and is a 13-year member of the Financial Services Institute that acts as an advocate for independent financial services firms nationwide. Andy has recently completed the Certified Financial Planner Board-registered education program towards obtaining his Certified Financial Planner™ designation.

Andy’s experience started on an institutional trade desk where he made markets in domestic bank stocks. Andy later joined a global financial services firm where he spent time in the Philippines offering international clients in Asia, South America, and Europe the ability to purchase US domiciled offshore investments. Shortly after his travels he joined the U.S. based division of the firm to manage and supervise financial advisors located throughout the US. Since 2004, Andy focused on building his practice by providing financial planning services specifically to individuals and their families. In 2012 he transitioned his practice to a small boutique firm, Charleton Financial that specializes in serving high net worth clients, of which he remains affiliated with to consult on compliance issues relating to industry rules & regulations.

Andy has written articles in local and national publications including CNBC and Yahoo! Finance on topics relating to retirement income planning, financial planning strategies, and market analysis.
